Case Studies

The aim of this section of the website is to provide examples of pig simulation and the implementation of pig design techniques. The examples presented are based on real-life scenarios which Pipeline Research Limited have provided solutions to aid the decision making process.

The first example is taken from an analysis of the motion of a pipeline dewatering train. In the course of the analysis work it was shown that the last dual diameter pig (run in gas) in the train could possibly reverse into a wye piece downstream from the reducer: -
